Ingredients and supplies

  • 1 pointed cabbage (about 800 grams)
  • 200 gr carrot
  • 1 onion
  • 1 red onion

Dressing:

  • 150 ml buttermilk
  • 175 g mayonnaise
  • 30 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp vinegar
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • generous pinch of salt
  • good pinch of pepper4

Other requirements: sharp knife, fine grater or possibly a food processor

Prep-work

Cut the pointed cabbage into thin strips by hand or using a food processor.

Grate the carrot finely with a grater or food processor.

Cut both onions into fine strips.

Preparation

Put everything together in a container that has a lid.

Mix the dressing ingredients together and mix well.

Combine the chopped vegetables and the dressing and stir well.

Cover with a lid or plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator overnight.

Delicious with a pulled pork sandwich (see recipe) or with mashed potatoes with cheese (see recipe) .
