Ingredients and supplies
- 6 pork cheeks
- 4-5 finely chopped onions
- 4-6 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 100 g smoked bacon (optional)
- 1 bottle of Trappist beer
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tsp thyme
- 2 bay leaves
- You can replace 100 ml of stock (beef or veal) with stock cubes
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- cup of cream (optional)
Prep-work
Finely chop the onions and garlic.
Don't make a fuss about it, but look at the pork cheeks and try to remove as much of the membranes, hard parts and loose fat as possible.
In the original recipe cream was added. We left this out.
The sauce was very tasty.
Preparation
Salt and pepper the cheeks.
Fry the pork cheeks in some oil and butter.
Remove them from the pan,

In the same pan, fry the onion until brown, finally add the flour and fry for another 2 minutes.
Add beer, mustard, herbs, vinegar and stock.
Stir well.
Cook the meat for 2 - 2.5 hours.

More vinegar? Salt or pepper?
In the original recipe cream was added. We left this out. The sauce was as such very tasty.
