Preparation

Please note that Grandma makes the turban with an old gas oven (ETNA)! So experiment a bit with the gas setting / temperatures!

Mix the self-raising flour, sulfur, salt, butter, milk and eggs well

If the batter is too dry, add some more milk.

Add currants, raisins, orange zest and (optional) candied peel.

Butter the Bundt pan and dust with some rusk or breadcrumbs.

Place the dish in the middle of a cold oven and cook for about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
