Ingredients and supplies

  • 1 kg potatoes
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 500 g whole green beans, or runner beans, or broccoli
  • 3 spring onions
  • 10 stalks of parsley
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 small can of tomato puree
  • to taste some pul biber or sambal to taste
  • 200 g grated (young) mature cheese
  • some nutmeg
  • some breadcrumbs
  • some baking olive oil

Prep-work

  • Peel the potatoes, cut them into pieces and boil them in a pan of salted water until done.

  • Wash the green beans, remove the ends and cut them diagonally into 2 cm pieces and cook them in a pan with water and some salt for 5 minutes until al dente.

  • In the meantime, chop the spring onion and parsley.

  • Peel the garlic and then grate it.

Preparation

Put some olive oil in a frying pan and fry the minced meat until crumbly.

Add salt and pepper to taste and possibly pul biber, the latter for some spice.

Add the spring onion, parsley and grated garlic.
Add the contents of the can of tomato puree and stir.
Let it cook for about 2 minutes and then turn off the pan.

Drain the beans and let them steam.
Drain the potatoes and let them steam.

At the same time, heat some milk.

Mash the potatoes and warm milk and add some nutmeg and 50 grams of grated cheese and stir until it is a nice homogeneous puree.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

Take an oven dish and put the minced meat in it.

The second layer is the beans and the third layer is the covering layer with the puree.
Distribute everything evenly and do not spread the puree too smoothly.

A little bit of a robust layer is nice.

Sprinkle some breadcrumbs over the puree and finally the grated cheese.
Place the baking dish in the oven for about 15 minutes.

This recipe can also be made in advance, so you can just grab it from the fridge.
Then place the dish in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes.

The delicious complete casserole is ready!
