  • x number of eggs (size large)
  • enough boiling water

Prep-work

Gather all your courage!

Preparation

Fill the pan with enough water so that the eggs are completely submerged.

Place the pan on the stove and wait until the water boils.

There are recipes where you put the eggs in cold water and set the timer when the water boils... wrong wrong wrong. Unless you like a surprise because with this method you never know what you're going to get!

Okay, the water is boiling.

Use the egg piercer to poke a hole in the convex bottom of the eggs. You do this to give the air bubble in the egg the chance to escape during cooking (air expands). If you forget this, the egg can burst in the pan, which is a shame, but it often works out fine.

Oh yeah, so the water is boiling!

Take a spoon or, as shown in the photo, a slotted spoon and place the eggs in the water.

Now stay with it for a moment!

Set the egg timer for 6 min 15 sec!

When the water boils again, start the alarm!

So now you have a little over 6 minutes to do something else, but make sure you stay within hearing distance of your kitchen timer!

When the alarm goes off, turn off the heat and immediately pour the boiling water into the sink.

Fill the pan with eggs with cold water!

Let stand for 1 minute and then drain.

Serve according to your own creativity...a delicious soft egg.

Delicious on a sandwich with ham or salmon!

Soft-boiled egg:

large egg from the fridge: 6 min 15 sec

small egg: -15 sec

large egg: +15 sec

egg at room temperature: - 15 sec

Hard boiled egg:

+ 2 min (compared to soft-boiled egg)

Crackling hard boiled egg:

+ 5 min (compared to soft-boiled egg)
