Ingredients and supplies

  • 12 slices of bacon
  • 6 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp coarse mustard
  • lemon juice to taste
  • 12 slices of (tasty) bread
  • a few leaves of iceberg lettuce
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 100 g chicken fillet
  • salt/pepper to taste

Preparation

Fry bacon slices over low heat until crispy.

Toast the slices of bread.

Mix together the mayonnaise, mustard, salt and pepper.

Taste and add a little lemon juice if desired.

Cut the onion into very thin slices/rings.

Also slice the tomato thinly.

Cut the iceberg lettuce into thin strips.

Spread the slices with the mayonnaise.

Divide half the iceberg lettuce over 4 slices of bread.

Divide 2 thinly sliced tomatoes over it.

Divide half of the thinly sliced onion over the tomato.

Sprinkle with some salt and pepper.

Top the tomato/onion with the 100 g chicken fillet and cover with a slice of bread (mayo side up).

Divide the remaining lettuce over it.

Top with the crispy fried bacon.

Divide the remaining onion (optional: slice of cheese).

Cover with the remaining slices of bread.

Press and cut the sandwich in half (secure with a wooden skewer).
