Ghee / clarified butter

Ghee is butter without milk components. The advantage is that you can heat ghee higher than butter. In the Netherlands it is comparable to "clarified butter".

Ingredients and supplies

1 pack of butter or as much as you need

Prep-work

No preparation required other than opening a pack of butter!

Preparation

Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat.

After a few minutes, the milk solids will sink to the bottom.

It will probably bubble and crackle quite a bit.

After about 8 minutes the ghee is ready.

Strain the ghee through a fine sieve, leaving the milk solids in the sieve.

Place in a jar and keep until use.
