Stir-fried steak with paprika made its way to our table during our "10 euro cooking" experiment, a great way to encourage our sons' independence. A simple, affordable and incredibly tasty dish that has remained a favorite ever since!

Ingredients and supplies
- 400 gr steak
- 3 peppers (different colors)
- 3 spring onions
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 3 tbsp cooking oil / vegetable oil
- 5 tbsp sweet soy sauce / ketjap manis
- 6 tbsp vinegar or rice vinegar or lemon juice (may be a little more or less, to taste)
- salt and pepper to taste
Optional: fresh red pepper

Prep-work
Cut the steak into thin slices.
Cut the peppers into strips.
Clean the spring onions and cut into large pieces
Peel the onion and garlic.
Cut the onion into strips
Finely chop the garlic.
Preparation
Add the ketjap and vinegar to the bowl and taste to see if the sweet/sour ratio is right for you.
Add freshly ground pepper and salt to taste (and optionally finely chopped red pepper).
Heat a wok over high heat for 1 minute.
Pour in the oil and let it get really hot.
Fry the garlic for a few seconds and add the meat and stir-fry for 30 seconds.
Add the ketjap/vinegar mixture and stir-fry for 1 minute.
Stir the peppers, spring onions and onion through the meat and fry for another minute.
Delicious with pandan or basmati rice.
