    Other supplies

When our sons started secondary education, we started working on independence at home. We introduced 10 euros for cooking. The request was: find a recipe from one of the cookbooks, go shopping for a maximum of 10 euros and prepare the dish.

This is how stir-fried steak with peppers ended up on our menu.

A very tasty but simple dish to make.

    Mis en place

Cut the steak into thin slices.

    Cut the peppers into strips.

Clean the spring onions and cut into large pieces

    Peel the onion and garlic.

    Cut the onion into strips

    Chop the garlic finely.

Put the soy sauce and vinegar in the bowl and taste whether the sweet/sour ratio is right for you.

Add freshly ground pepper and salt to taste (and optionally chopped red pepper).

Heat a wok over high heat for 1 minute.

Pour in the oil and let it get hot.

Fry the garlic for a few seconds and then add the meat and stir-fry for 30 seconds.

Add the soy sauce/vinegar mixture and stir-fry for 1 minute.

Stir the peppers, spring onions and onion into the meat and fry for another minute.

Delicious with pandan or basmati rice.
