Mashed potatoes

Ingredients

  • 650 grams of potatoes

  • 150 g young or young matured cheese

  • 150 ml warm milk

  • pinch of nutmeg

Preparation

As simple as it is, it's still just a recipe for mashed potatoes.

Peel the potatoes! quantity is not so precise.

Boil them for 16 minutes (or as long as it takes to get them done! varies per potato).

Grate the cheese.

Just before the potatoes are ready, turn on the microwave and heat the milk

(if you don't have a microwave, heat the milk in another way!).

Drain the potatoes, take the masher and mash them vigorously! Throw in your aggression and crush those potatoes! There should not be a single recognizable piece of potato left!

Take a wooden spoon and stir in the warm potato crumbs, then add the grated cheese and half of the warm milk. Stir/mix the ingredients thoroughly and don't forget the edges/cookies! Add the rest of the milk if it is not yet a smooth mass, otherwise drink the milk.

Add a pinch of nutmeg, stir it through and you're done.

As a variation, we sometimes add some truffle oil to special dishes.
